The MicroRack servers come with a wide variety of spam filter and blocking options available in the Mailserver Settings control panel.



Spamhaus provides a realtime database of IP addresses of verified spam sources and spam operations. See http://www.spamhaus.org/ for more information.

SpamCop is a free and automatic blocking list fueled by a number of sources, including automated reports and SpamCop user. See http://www.spamcop.net/ for more information.

The Protected Sky RBL utilises advanced IP reputation checks to detect spam. See http://psky.me/ for more information.

NiX Spam is a procmail based spam filter and blocking list developed by Bert Ungerer, an editor of the German IT magazine iX. The blacklist can be used to protect mailservers against spam. See http://www.heise.de/ix/nixspam/dnsbl_en/ for more information.

SPF fights return-path address forgery and makes it easier to identify spoofs. Domain owners identify sending mail servers in DNS. SMTP receivers verify the envelope sender address against this information, and can distinguish authentic messages from forgeries before any message data is transmitted. Please note: By restricting the servers that are allowed to send mail for a domain, SPF may break inter-system SMTP forwarding. Don't use SPF if your users forward email directly to or form external mail servers without changing the 'from' address. See http://spf.pobox.com/ for more information.

The local blacklist can be used to reject mail based on selected IP addresses, IP blocks, domains and specific email addresses. Usually the local blacklist is used to stop incoming mail from a specific sources (e.g. 'mail bombs' caused by misconfigured listservers).
